Our pharmacists are trained and authorised to administer the flu vaccine directly in-pharmacy. There’s no need to book a GP appointment or wait for a referral. Simply walk in to our Portlaoise pharmacy and one of our team will look after you.
Who Should Get the Flu Vaccine?
The HSE recommends the flu vaccine for:
- Adults aged 65 and over
- People with long-term health conditions (diabetes, heart disease, asthma, etc.)
- Pregnant women
- Healthcare workers
- People who live with or care for someone at high risk
- Children aged 2–12 (nasal flu spray)
Even if you’re not in a high-risk group, getting vaccinated protects your family, colleagues, and the wider Portlaoise community.

The flu vaccine is free of charge for eligible groups under the HSE scheme. Private patients can also receive the vaccine — ask our team about current pricing when you visit.
