Nitty Gritty Defence Spray 250ml is a leave-in conditioning spray for everyday use during the school term. The manufacturer adds a blend of essential oils intended to help deter head lice, while the conditioning formula detangles hair so that regular checks with a nit comb are quicker and kinder.

How it works

This is a cosmetic hair care product, not a head lice treatment. It contains grapefruit peel, lavender, tea tree and neem seed oils with panthenol, and it is pesticide-free. It will not clear an existing infestation, so treat any live lice first and then use the spray alongside weekly checks with a nit comb.

How to use

• Spray evenly through dry or damp hair each day.
• Comb through to spread it from root to tip.
• Style as usual; there is no need to rinse.
