Nitty Gritty NitFree Comb

Description

The Nitty Gritty NitFree Comb is a reusable head lice and nit comb, designed by parents who wanted a chemical-free way to clear head lice. Use it on its own with ordinary conditioner, or after a head lice treatment to remove lice and eggs.

How it works

The comb has 33 closely spaced stainless steel teeth. Each tooth carries a spiral microgroove that grips lice, nits (empty egg cases) and unhatched eggs as the comb passes along the hair. The long teeth reach through thick and curly hair, and the rounded, cone-shaped tips help reduce scratching on the scalp.

How to use

• Wash the hair and apply plenty of ordinary conditioner to wet hair.
• Divide the hair into small sections.
• Comb each section from the scalp to the ends, wiping the comb on a tissue after each stroke.
• Finish one section before moving to the next, then rinse out the conditioner.

Suitable for

Adults and children of all ages and all hair types, including long, fine, thick and curly hair. Comb gently on young children and sensitive scalps.

Good to know

• Clean the comb in hot soapy water after use; one comb per household is enough for weekly checks.
• Wet combing is usually repeated every few days for about two weeks to catch newly hatched lice.
• It is a device, not a medicine, so you can use it as often as you need.
