Description

Vamousse Head Lice Treatment Mousse 160ml is designed with children in mind. The mousse is easy to place on the hair, which helps keep product away from the eyes, and it does not leave the hair greasy afterwards. The manufacturer describes it as a single treatment that targets both lice and eggs.

How it works

Vamousse is pesticide-free. The alcohol-based mousse acts on head lice and their eggs during a 15 minute contact time, after which dead lice and eggs are combed out with the steel comb provided.

How to use

• Start with dry hair. Divide it into 3 or 4 sections and shake the can well.
• Apply generously, a small section at a time, from the scalp to the ends, paying extra attention to the nape of the neck and behind the ears. Massage in until the hair and scalp are saturated; long hair may need the whole can.
• Leave on for 15 minutes.
• Without adding water, comb the hair while it is still wet with mousse, using the steel comb provided, from scalp to ends, and wipe the comb on a paper towel after each stroke. If the hair dries, apply a little more mousse to ease combing.
• Shampoo and towel dry the hair.
• Check the hair again over the following week or so.

Suitable for

Adults and children aged 2 years and over; for children under 2, ask a doctor. Not for use on the eyebrows or eyelashes, or for body or pubic lice. The mousse causes serious eye irritation: keep the eyes closed and covered with a towel while applying, and if any gets in the eyes, rinse with water for several minutes. It is a flammable aerosol: keep the can, and treated hair, away from heat, sparks and naked flames, and do not smoke nearby. It contains geraniol, which may cause an allergic reaction. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a healthcare professional before use.

Good to know

The manufacturer’s instructions do not call for a routine second application 7 days later, which suits families who find repeat treatments hard to manage. Our pharmacists are happy to advise if you find live lice again.
