Description

Nitty Gritty Head Lice Solution Kit 150ml pairs a plant oil solution with a nit comb, for families who prefer to remove head lice by thorough combing rather than with an insecticide. The oils help the comb slide through the hair, and the solution does not foam, so you can see what you are removing.

How it works

The solution is made with grape seed and wheatgerm oils plus neem, eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, tea tree and geranium oils, in a nut-free base. Its job is to coat the hair and help the comb catch lice and eggs. The combing does the work, so take your time over each section.

How to use

• Shake well and apply to dry, detangled hair, saturating the scalp and roots. Cover shoulders with an old towel.
• Comb through with the wider side of the comb, then the finer side, wiping the comb between strokes.
• Leave on for at least 20 minutes (or overnight if preferred), combing frequently.
• Comb again from roots to ends, then shampoo, rinse and shampoo again.

Suitable for

Adults and children. Speak to a healthcare professional before using it on a child under 2 years, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have epilepsy. Avoid the eyes and stop use if a reaction occurs. The solution contains wheatgerm oil and essential oils, so check the ingredients if you have a wheat or plant oil allergy. As with any oily hair product, keep treated hair away from naked flames until it has been washed out.

Good to know

Combing sessions are usually repeated every few days for about two weeks, to catch lice that hatch from any eggs missed the first time. Our pharmacists are happy to explain the wet-combing method and how it compares with our other treatments.
